Breaking: APCON Assures the Professional Model Managers Association of Nigeria (ProMMAN) of its Unflinching Support.


The Professional Model Managers Association of Nigeria (ProMMAN), led by its President, Frank Osodi and his executive members, Henry Alabi (Social Sec.), Tonywyse Inibu (Sec. Gen), Kenneth Ighodalo (PRO), Obiageli Okogwu (Treasurer), Samuel Orheruata (Provost), Ogheneovo Ogufere (Vice President), paid a courtesy visit to the Registrar/Chief Executive of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) to congratulate the Registrar of his appointment and seek the support of the regulatory body towards restructuring the modeling industry in Nigeria. 

At the meeting, the ProMMAN President enumerated the many challenges facing the modelling industry in Nigeria, and sought the support of APCON in policy formulation, implementation, and regulation that will protect the industry and make it more viable for Nigerian models and other industry stakeholders. 

In his response, the APCON Registrar/Chief Executive Officer Dr Olalekan Fadolapo stated that the modeling industry is a very important and integral arm of the advertising sector which provides legitimate employment opportunities to millions of youths in the country. He expressed the Council’s  full commitment towards revamping and protecting the modelling industry and assured PROMMAN of the support of the Government and Council to make the modelling business much more viable in the country. 

The APCON Registrar/Chief Executive Officer urged ProMMAN to ensure that the Nigerian modeling industry under their supervision becomes the best in Africa, just as the music industry, and assured the team of the Council’s support in ensuring that only Nigerian models benefit from all Nigeria based campaigns. It was agreed that both APCON and PROMMAN will play their respective parts towards upholding professionalism and kicking out mediocrity in the profession.
